Title: Boarders

Year: 2016

Material: Birch bark

Commission: Katarina kyrka

Exhibited: Katarina kyrka

I together with Sunna Hansdottír and Fatima Abelli initiated an exhibition together with Katarina kyrka.

Together we created the framework and theme for our group exhibition “Crying is pointless” as well as individual artwork.

For our group exhibition I created the work “Borders”. In “Borders birch bark has been twisted into barb wire making the protection inefficient, soft and fragile. Still the scars are already made on the body of the tree which had to give up it skin (bark) in order for someone else’s protection.
